How to loop just part of a YouTube video
Updated · tested in Chrome
Short answer
YouTube’s Loop (right-click the player) repeats the whole video. To repeat one section, use ytbud’s Loop button: click once to set A, again to set B, and the part between them repeats. A third click clears it. The section is shaded on the progress bar.
Add to Chrome — it’s freeLoop the whole video
- Right-click the player.
- Choose Loop.
That loops start to finish. There’s no way to pick a section.
With ytbud, step by step
- Add ytbud to Chrome and turn on A–B loop in Tools → Buttons under the video.
- Play to where the part starts and click Loop: that’s A.
- Play to where it ends and click Loop again: that’s B. It now repeats.
- Click Loop a third time to clear it.
Good to know
- Slow it down
- Pair the loop with Extra speeds at 0.5× or 0.75× to learn a riff or a step.
- Mirror for dance
- “Mirror flip” flips the picture so a dance tutorial matches your left and right.
